We know you are busy and we know that times are tough. That is why we decided to create the easiest possible scholarship to give something back to students. Students can use the money to help cover tuition, housing, meal plans, books, computers, or any education-related expenses. The scholarship is open to all high school and college students and those planning to enroll in the next 12 months.
We’re always on the look-out for cool scholarships, but some are a bit weird… like the candy-maker’s scholarship. There’s $5,000 for the lucky student who can prove he or she loves candy and wants to be a candy-maker.

The Beverly J. Gilliam Scholarship for Foreign Study offers financial assistance to students who are accepted into recognized study abroad programs for the Summer 2011. The goal of the Scholarship is to help students gain international experiences that will help them to become better world citizens and successfully compete in the global job market. Beverly J. Gilliam was educated in the New York Public School System received her undergraduate degree from City University of New York and obtained a graduate degree from Columbia University School of Library Science. Her career started in Asia where she was responsible for setting up and managing American libraries in Korea and Japan as well as libraries at U.S. military installations in Europe. Her favorite pastime was international travel.

Seriously - It does seem like that, but even if you applied to 50 scholarships and got one, you would be out something like $70 in exchange for $1000, $2000, or even more. As long as you don’t develop a scholarship application habit like some people develop lottery ticket habits… you’ll be okay.
Our suggestion is to apply to specific scholarships and not general ones, if you can avoid it.

I’ve applied to like… 10-15 of them so far? I fussed with like 2 big ones the past week and… my dad made this weird funny analogy.
Because I’m pretty good at time management - I never had to mail them express, so 1 scholarship package costs like $1.40.
